The objective of this project is to:


Clean, analyze, and visualize logistics and delivery performance data for JIT Logistics. The goal is to uncover insights on operational efficiency, delivery times, and cost per trip, which can be used to improve decision-making and showcase performance to clients.


Desired outcomes by the end of the project:

  • Explain the importance of data-driven decision making in logistics
  • Differentiate between structured data (delivery times, costs, routes) and unstructured data (customer feedback)
  • Understand how logistics datasets can be cleaned and prepared for analysis
  • Apply the four types of data analytics (descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, prescriptive) in a logistics context
  • Create dashboards and visualizations for KPIs such as on-time delivery %, fuel efficiency, and route optimization
  • Recognize how visual data storytelling can improve communication with business clients
  • Recommend strategies for using cleaned data to improve JIT Logistics’ operations

Deliverables

By the end of the project, examples of outcomes are:

  • Clean and analyze a logistics dataset (e.g., sample delivery routes, costs, times)
  • Build visualizations that show trends such as peak delivery hours, service areas, and cost efficiency
  • Translate findings into business recommendations for JIT Logistics to optimize operations


Final deliverables should include:

  1. Cleaned logistics dataset + documentation of data preparation steps
  2. Interactive dashboard or static visualizations (charts, graphs, KPIs)
  3. 2–3 page report with insights and recommendations for operational improvements
