Strategic HR Insights and Solutions

This experience matches final-year MBA Graduate students specializing in HR Strategy with clients who would benefit from in depth analysis around an HR process. Students will collaborate with industry professionals over a 6-7 week period starting October 18th 2025, culminating December 6th 2025. Learners will apply their knowledge of HR metrics analysis, strategy development, and recruitment benchmarking to provide valuable insights to organizations. The focus is on aligning HR strategies with business objectives, enabling students to offer data-driven recommendations that enhance organizational effectiveness without direct implementation. Students will meet with you during the week of October 18th to align with you on what will be most impactful to your business, and to align on the work that they will undertake over the next 6-7 weeks. Students will meet with you during the week of November 1st 2025 to provide their initial findings and propose their direction/topic for the final deliverable, based on your business needs. Students will present you with a final report on the agreed upon topic, and present their findings and recommendations for future action during the week of December 6th - 12.

The BUSI 660, a capstone project-based course, is designed for students in the final term of their MBA program. The course has a strong analytical, applied, and experiential orientation. Students work in groups of 4-5 to focus on a challenge/opportunity for the business. The students' process - and ultimate deliverable will include a current analysis of the business, problem or opportunity identification, research (as applicable), recommended solutions/strategy with implementation plan, budget and finally, risk identification and mitigation strategies (again, as applicable). The project can be for a Canadian business of any size, however enterprises run by solo-preneurs would probably not provide the necessary scope.
